👩💻🧑💻 As an Optical Engineer at Ivy Partners, you will be in charge of :
Drive the development of new optical sensing technologies from concept through engineering to production readiness.
Design and specify opto-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, ensuring alignment with system-level requirements.
Select, characterize, and test optical components, and define appropriate measurement and testing techniques.
Set up and perform optical lab experiments and measurements, including system alignment and calibration.
Develop and apply modelling, simulations, and data analysis using tools like MATLAB or Python.
Coordinate with suppliers and partners for the fabrication and integration of optical components and assemblies.
Generate and maintain technical documentation: BOMs, mechanical drawings, programming files, etc.
Support the design and development of test tooling and carry out validation and qualification testing.
Ensure compliance with internal development processes and contribute to certification activities when required.
Lead or support project planning and coordination, manage small technical teams or external partners, and monitor budgets, risks, and reporting.
Job requirements
🏅 Profile :
Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in the development of complex optical systems – ideally in optical sensing and fiber-optic sensor applications.
Solid expertise in optical simulation tools such as Ansys Zemax or Lumerical, and in modelling/coding tools like MATLAB and Python.
Strong hands-on lab experience: prototyping of optical systems, component characterization, fiber-optic assembly and alignment techniques.
Knowledge of MEMS/MOEMS design and micro-fabrication processes (cleanroom environment) is a strong plus.
Experience in industrialization and production of optical systems is highly valued.
Background in project engineering or project management, with familiarity with tools like MS Project, JIRA, or MS Planner.
Previous experience in aerospace or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; active listener and effective team collaborator.
Autonomous, proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented mindset – you enjoy thinking outside the box.
Fluent in English, with a very good command of French, both spoken and written.
