As an AWS/Redshift Database Administrator at Ivy Partners, you will:
- Monitor Redshift cluster health, performance, and resource utilization daily.
- Manage and tune WLM queues to effectively isolate and prioritize workloads.
- Implement VACUUM and ANALYZE strategies for large-scale tables in a high-demand production environment.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues through SVL/STV system views, CloudWatch metrics, and the Redshift console.
- Participate in incident response, including war room calls with senior management.
- Proactively monitor all supported database platforms, identify anomalies, and collaborate with development teams.
- Conduct maintenance and disaster recovery operations during scheduled windows.
- Handle on-call responsibilities across a broad database stack, ensuring robust triage capability.
- Oversee installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades across on-premises and AWS database environments.
- Administer user access, space allocation, backup policies, and disaster recovery configurations

- Work: 4x times per week in the Office in Porto.

Job requirements

About You
You are our ideal candidate if you:
- Possess over 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with a deep focus on AWS database services in a production setting.
- Have expert-level, hands-on Amazon Redshift administration skills including cluster management, distribution and sort key strategies, WLM queue configuration, and performance diagnostics.
- Maintain solid operational DBA experience with at least one additional RDBMS such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, either on-premises or via AWS RDS and Aurora.
- Are available for Saturday production windows and monthly on-call rotations after a thorough initial onboarding period (approximately two to three months).
- Demonstrate composure and clear communication skills in high-pressure situations involving executive stakeholders.

- Fluent English both spoken and written.
